Five Questions

What is your favorite part about working at Allay?

I get to help people reach their company goals! Our team gets to help make products compliant / consistent and workers safer, making companies more efficient, normalized and successful. Every day, we help companies become the best they can be, and to me, that is very fulfilling.

What was your most interesting job before joining Allay?

Most people know me from being one of the first cannabis regulators, but what they don’t know is that I was a bartender before that for many years. I think most of my social skills come from all the late-nights dealing with customers and slinging drinks. Nothing can teach you more about people than working in the service industry for a fair amount of time.

Where can we find you after work?

Before quarantine, I attended many happy hours. But nowadays, since I have moved to Oregon, I go for a lot of hikes with my dog Baldur or paddleboarding in the summer.

Tell us your go-to karaoke song:

Cherry Bomb, The Runaways, 1976

What advice would you give to other industry professionals?

Always keep one eye on the future of this industry. We’re headed toward federal legalization, and we need to start preparing now, so we don’t get penalized when that day comes. Many companies aren’t going to be ready and will, unfortunately, pay the price when change inevitably happens.
